When you See Him

Have you seen some of those “when you see it…” posts floating around on social media? You either look and find a hidden object or you look and find something of note whether it be funny, interesting, or ironic. Here’s a pretty common one:

Do you see the man? Look closely!

Do you see the man? Look closely!

There’s a man in there. Did you find him? If you didn’t, look for a face in the lower left. Wasn’t that fun? And easy?

How do you feel when your day seems like one of these pictures¬†and you just can’t seem to see anything good?¬†Satan wants to make our world seem like an illusion. And he wants Jesus to be as hidden as possible. But here’s the thing– He is everywhere. Even on your worst of days, He is all up in your day, Sister! Maybe on the day of grieving, He is the friend with a quiet and comforting hug. On the rushed days, He’s the friend that brings lunch unexpectedly. On the days when your temper is short and you feel like yelling at your kids, maybe He is the interrupting phone call from a wrong number. Or what about in the sunrise or the newborn babe?

Look for Him tomorrow. He will be there. And when you see Him, let your heart feel the wonder, and run out to greet Him.

As soon as all the people saw Jesus, they were overwhelmed with wonder and ran to greet him. Mark 9:15
